Sherpany is built with security and privacy at its core. Sensitive board and executive data is protected using enterprise-grade AES-256 encryption at rest and SSL/TLS encryption in transit. Sherpany is hosted on geo-redundant servers in Swiss data centres, ensuring data residency and protection from extraterritorial access such as the US CLOUD Act.

Access to information is governed through multiple layers of control, including two-factor authentication, SAML-based single sign-on, SCIM user provisioning, and granular role-based permissions. This ensures that only authorised users can access specific meetings and documents, with the ability to revoke access immediately when required. Sherpany complies with leading security and regulatory standards, including ISO 27001, ISAE 3000 Type II, GDPR, FINMA 18/3, and BaFin requirements. Additional safeguards such as IP filtering, remote device wiping, and continuous security testing further strengthen data protection beyond general collaboration tools.

Sherpany does not replace tools like Microsoft Teams. While Microsoft Teams is designed for everyday communication and video conferencing, Sherpany is purpose-built for board and executive meetings. Sherpany's native integration with Microsoft Teams, enables organisations to use Teams for real-time communication while relying on Sherpany to manage the lifecycle of board and executive meetings, including meeting preparation, secure documentation, approvals, minutes, and decision follow-up.

Sherpany can be accessed offline through our mobile apps on iPad, iPhone, Android, and Windows devices. This means board and executive team members can securely review meeting documents and prepare for meetings even without an internet connection, with changes automatically synced once the connection is restored. To access Sherpany using the the web, an internet connection is required.

Sherpany’s onboarding combines self-service resources, tailored support, and automated processes to help teams from organisations of all sizes to get up to speed.

Boards and executive teams are typically onboarded in under three weeks, with faster timelines possible depending on availability and setup requirements. Users can get started through self-service resources such as online guides, webinars, and in-app walkthroughs, enabling them to learn how to manage agendas, documents, tasks, and decisions at their own pace.

For organisations that require more hands-on guidance, Sherpany also offers onboarding support from our Customer Success specialists. This is particularly valuable for boards and executive teams operating in complex or highly regulated environments.

For organisations onboarding more than 100 users, Sherpany supports automated onboarding through enterprise-grade capabilities such as Single Sign-On (SSO) and Just-in-Time (JIT) provisioning.
